    Job Title: Assistant Product Portfolio Manager
    Location: Onsite Shelton CT
     Type: Direct Hire Full Time

    Job Summary:
    Working under the direction of Product Management, the Assistant Product Manager supports and manages assigned new product development, product line extension, and commercialization projects from concept through launch and throughout the product lifecycle.
    This role works closely with Sales, RD&E, Marketing/Branding, Customer Experience (CX), Quality, Operations, and other cross-functional teams to support customer and market needs, product profitability, successful product launches, and overall business growth.
    Essential Job Responsibilities
    • Support the Product Portfolio Manager with new product development, product line extensions, and commercialization projects from concept through launch, including product briefs, assigned projects, timelines, prototypes, samples, and deliverables.
    • Partner with RD&E and cross-functional teams, including Sales, Marketing/Branding, CX, Quality, and Operations, to evaluate product feasibility, coordinate development activities, resolve challenges, and support timely launches.
    • Support Sales and customer-facing activities by working directly with Sales Managers and participating in customer meetings, innovation sessions, plant visits, and trade shows.
    • Translate customer feedback and market insights into potential product development and business opportunities.
    • Conduct market and competitive research to identify industry trends, customer needs, pricing information, portfolio gaps, and new business opportunities.
    • Maintain competitive analyses, cross-references, category matrices, and other market intelligence tools.
    • Prepare pre-development NCMs, margin analyses, reports, and recommendations to support product, customer, and business decisions.
    • Manage prototype, sample, and product information, including historical RP/prototype tracking, sample coordination, competitive samples, and accurate product information within applicable systems.
    • Support and continuously improve product management processes and systems, including Salesforce, PSF, Epicor, SOPs, project trackers, and checklists, to improve visibility, consistency, and efficiency.
    • Partner with Marketing/Branding and internal teams on product launches and related communications.
    • Support the development of product training, photoshoots and videos, application ideas, presentations, sales materials, catalogs, carton artwork, and other product launch materials.
    • Travel domestically approximately 5%–10%.
    • Perform other duties as assigned by Product Management.

    • None.
    Safety
    • Comply with the Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) Policy and all applicable regulatory and company EH&S rules and requirements.
    • Report unsafe conditions, practices, or situations that may adversely impact the environment to management or supervision to ensure prompt resolution of potential hazards.
    Product Safety and Quality
    • Follow all applicable Product Safety and Quality standards.
    • Follow FDA Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) related to food-contact packaging as applicable to the position.
    Minimum Qualifications
    • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Management, or a related field.
    • Understanding of engineering terminology is a plus.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Word.
    • Experience with Salesforce, Pardot, SharePoint, and Microsoft Teams preferred.
    • Ability to read, understand, and interpret technical and financial information.
    • Ability to apply mathematical and statistical concepts to sales forecasting and financial analysis.
    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze complex data and develop data-driven conclusions.
    • Strong organizational, project management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects and priorities.
    • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
