Position Overview
The Assistant Product Manager supports the end-to-end product development and production process, working closely with the Associate Product Manager and cross-functional teams including Merchandising, Design, Technical Design, Materials, Sourcing, and suppliers. This role helps drive seasonal product development from concept through production while ensuring products are delivered on time, meet quality standards, and support business objectives.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Support the seasonal product development process from concept through production.
  • Partner with Merchandising, Design, Technical Design, Materials, Sourcing, and suppliers to meet development milestones.
  • Manage sample tracking, fit approvals, material approvals, costing follow-up, and production timelines.
  • Maintain accurate product information, specifications, costing details, and development status in PLM and other business systems.
  • Coordinate daily communication with internal teams and suppliers.
  • Monitor development calendars and Track & Action (T&A) milestones, escalating risks when necessary.
  • Support supplier communication to ensure product quality and on-time delivery.
  • Prepare reports, analysis, meeting materials, and status updates for seasonal reviews.
  • Assist with sample management, product review meetings, and cross-functional development reviews.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, communication, and workflow efficiency.
  • Support category objectives related to quality, delivery, and financial performance.
  • Perform other assigned duties.
 
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Fashion Merchandising, Product Development, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 1–3 years of experience in Product Development, Merchandising, Sourcing, Production, or a related apparel industry role.
  • Working knowledge of the apparel product development process and product lifecycle.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Basic understanding of product costing, sourcing, and production processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Self-motivated and team-oriented.
  • Ability to travel as business needs require.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
 
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in retail, wholesale apparel, or consumer products.
  • Exposure to Discounters and Club business.
  • Experience using PLM systems.
