    Description

    Black Bear Talent is hiring an Assistant Plant Manager. The Assistant Plant Manager plays a key leadership role in supporting the day-to-day operations of a manufacturing facility. Working closely with the Plant Manager and senior leadership, this position helps ensure operational goals are met while maintaining a strong focus on employee well-being, safety, quality, production, cost efficiency, and continuous improvement. This role collaborates cross-functionally with leadership on strategic planning and resource needs and serves as the acting Plant Manager when the Plant Manager is unavailable.


    Responsibilities:

    • Support the Plant Manager in overseeing daily plant operations, ensuring throughput and quality standards are met.
    • Ensure employee well-being and safety standards are consistently enforced.
    • Collaborate cross-functionally with leadership on strategic planning and resource needs.
    • Effectively communicate with the Plant Manager and senior leadership regarding plant operations and priorities.
    • Help control overtime for hourly employees while supporting operational needs.
    • Identify opportunities to limit downtime and champion continuous improvement efforts.
    • Champion preventative maintenance initiatives and asset reliability.
    • Ensure housekeeping standards are maintained throughout the facility.
    • Maintain inventory accuracy for in-plant inventory.
    • Communicate and coordinate with Human Resources as required.
    • Ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal safety and environmental standards.
    • Assume Plant Manager responsibilities when the Plant Manager is unavailable.
    • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

    Requirements:

    • Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent experience in a manufacturing leadership role.
    • Strong computer skills with the ability to effectively use Microsoft Office programs, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
    • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
    • Proven knowledge and experience working with ERP systems.
    • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
    • Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
