    Description

    The Assistant Operations Manager will support the Operations Manager in overseeing manufacturing, packaging, shipping, and receiving operations. This role requires a hands-on, highly organized professional who can coordinate daily operations, support team performance, maintain production priorities, and communicate effectively across departments.

    Key Responsibilities

    Manufacturing and Packaging

    • Support the Operations Manager in coordinating scheduled manufacturing and packaging production runs.

    • Conduct routine quality checks on manufacturing and packaging lines to help ensure product standards are met.

    • Monitor inventory levels for components and finished goods to support timely production and order fulfillment.

    • Provide clear work instructions and operational direction to production staff.

    • Communicate production requirements to the Operations Manager and assist with adjusting production plans to ensure orders are completed and shipped on schedule.

    • Collaborate with Order Processing and Customer Service teams to support accurate, timely, and complete order shipments.

    • Serve as a backup resource for the Operations Manager as business needs require.

    • Partner with company leadership on special projects and other operational initiatives as assigned.

    Shipping & Receiving

    • Assist in supervising a small shipping and receiving team responsible for daily inbound and outbound warehouse activities.

    • Pick orders, verify accuracy, prepare pallets and cartons, apply required labels, and load outbound shipments.

    • Receive inbound materials, unload deliveries, verify receiving documentation, and place materials in designated storage locations.

    • Quote, schedule, and coordinate transportation for inbound and outbound shipments, including small parcel, LTL, truckload, LCL, and container load shipments.

    • Process UPS small parcel shipments accurately and efficiently.

    • Maintain a clean, safe, organized and compliant warehouse environment.

     

    Qualifications & Preferred Experience

    • Experience working in a manufacturing or packaging environment is required.

    • Shipping, receiving, or transportation experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment is preferred.

    • Familiarity with UPS and FedEx shipping platforms; experience working with freight brokers is a plus.

    • Experience with EDI and ERP systems is a plus.

    • Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and a commitment to accuracy.

    • Demonstrated ability to maintain a safe, organized, and productive work environment.

    • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat.

    • Forklift operation experience is preferred.

    • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred.

    • Standard work hours are 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
