APM Terminals Elizabeth is seeking an Assistant Manager, Operations to help lead safe, efficient, and customer-focused terminaloperationsatoneofNorthAmerica'sbusiestcontainerterminals.Thisroleisidealforacollaborativeoperationsprofessionalwhoenjoysworkingwithpeople,makingdecisionsinrealtime,andhelpingteamssucceedinadynamic,fast-pacedenvironment.
The Assistant Manager, Operations plays a vital role in coordinating vessel operations, labor allocation, stevedoring activities, and terminal resources to ensure exceptional service for customers while maintaining the higheststandardsofsafetyandoperationalexcellence.WorkingcloselywithILAlabor,terminalleadership,andfrontlinesupervisors,thisindividualwillhelpdrivevesselproductivity,efficientcargomovement,andcontinuousoperationalimprovement.

This is a full-time position that supports a 24/7 operation. Flexibilityisimportant,asvesselschedulesmayrequirenight,weekend,andholidaycoverage.Theroleincludesacombinationofoffice-basedworkandtimespentthroughouttheterminalengagingdirectlywithoperationalteamsandsupportingfrontlineexecution.

The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; extreme cold. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; extreme heat and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is occasionally noisy.
