Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Assistant Nurse Manager to support the day-to-day operations of a high-acuity Intensive Care Unit. This leadership role partners with the Nurse Manager to ensure exceptional patient care, operational excellence, staff development, and regulatory compliance.
The ideal candidate will have a strong critical care background, demonstrated nursing leadership experience, and the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced hospital environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Nurse Manager in daily clinical and operational oversight of the ICU.
- Coordinate staffing, patient flow, and resource allocation to ensure safe, quality patient care.
- Assist with performance management, staff mentoring, coaching, and professional development.
- Promote patient safety, quality improvement, and regulatory compliance initiatives.
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Support employee engagement, retention, and departmental goals.
- Monitor clinical outcomes and participate in process improvement projects.
- Serve as a leadership resource for nursing staff and clinical teams.
- Assist in budgetary and operational planning activities.
- Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, and patient-centered care.
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) License or eligibility for licensure.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
- Current BLS Certification required.
- Minimum 2 years of direct ICU experience required.
- Minimum 2 years of CVICU experience required.
- Minimum 2 years of Hospital Nurse Leadership experience required.
- Strong leadership, communication, and critical thinking skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Nursing or Healthcare-related field preferred.
- ACLS Certification preferred.
- NIHSS Certification preferred.
- 3-5 years of hospital nursing leadership experience.
- Neuro, telemetry, or critical care leadership experience preferred.
