    Job Title Assistant Men's Basketball Coach (Work Study Only) (2 Positions) Position Summary

    The Men's Basketball Department is looking for student employees who will assist the coaching staff on the day to day operations. Serve an essential role during practices and games with the team. Student would need to be available to work various hours depending on need, possible evenings and weekend hours as needed. Assist in various activities.

    Federal Work-Study Awarded students preferred.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Assist in tournaments, camps, fundraisers and other baseball related activities and events.
    • Assist with the set-up and take-down before and after home games
    • Assist with the setup and execution of workouts.
    • Student will work various hour depending on need
    • Due to the variances between the needs of each sport, coaching staff, and Athletic Director, other duties as needed may be assigned. Such duties will be discussed to the employee.

    Education, Certifications and/or Licenses Experience

    • Experience working in basketball setting strongly preferred.
    • Assistant Experience preferred.

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

    • Ability and willingness to work supervised.
    • Knowledge of standard office practices and procedures, including filing.
    • Ability to work effectively, diplomatically and professionally with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
    • Ability to understand and meet coaches, and staff needs and expectations.
    • Ability to adhere to University & departmental policies and procedures.
    • Ability to be discrete in handling confidential matters, while complying with FERPA regulations.
    • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and events in a fluid, changing environment.
    • Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
    • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, memos, blue prints and schematic.
    • Knowledge in social media marketing.
    • Ability to write simple correspondence.
    • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
    • Ability to complete all physical tasks and duties.
    • Ability to move around campus running errands.
    • Ability to withstand exposure to outside weather conditions.
    • Ability to stand extended periods of time.
