    Position Overview

    We are seeking a detail-oriented and energetic Assistant Manager to support restaurant operations and leadership at a casual-dining restaurant location. This is a hands-on role requiring direct involvement in daily operations, staff management, and guest experience. You will work closely with the General Manager to ensure operational consistency, brand standards, and exceptional performance. This position offers a clear career path to General Manager and multi-unit leadership roles.


    Key Responsibilities

    • Daily Operations Support: Assist the GM in managing all aspects of daily restaurant operations, including opening/closing procedures, inventory management, and food preparation oversight
    • Staff Leadership & Coaching: Train, evaluate, and develop restaurant management and hourly team members; provide feedback and coaching to build team capability
    • Front-of-House Management: Oversee guest experience, manage seating, handle guest concerns, and ensure service standards are met consistently
    • Back-of-House Coordination: Monitor kitchen operations, food quality, production timing, and food cost control; support kitchen staff performance
    • Shift Coverage: Manage and lead shifts; step in as shift leader in the GM's absence to maintain operational continuity
    • P&L Support: Assist in managing labor costs, food costs, and budgets; monitor financial targets; support pricing and promotional initiatives
    • Compliance & Safety: Ensure adherence to health, safety, labor, and operational standards; assist with inspections and audits
    • Inventory & Ordering: Support inventory management, vendor communication, and par-level maintenance
    • Guest Service Leadership: Embody exceptional guest service; respond to complaints; drive a guest-first culture
    • Brand Standards: Execute corporate policies, procedures, and initiatives; maintain consistent brand presentation
    • Reporting & Communication: Communicate operational updates and challenges to the GM; maintain clear documentation and records


    Required Qualifications

    • 2+ years of restaurant or food service management experience
    • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
    • Hands-on, operations-focused management style
    • Ability to work flexible shifts (opening, closing, weekends, holidays)
    • Food service health/safety knowledge (ServSafe or equivalent preferred)
    • Proficiency with restaurant POS systems and management software
    • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
    • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs


    Preferred Qualifications

    • Casual-dining restaurant experience
    • Experience in a multi-unit restaurant environment
    • Current food handler/health certification
    • Guest service or customer-facing leadership experience
    • High school diploma or equivalent


    Compensation & Benefits

    Salary: $32,000 - $40,000 annually, plus performance bonus opportunity
