Pay: $18 - $21 per hour, based on experience.
Schedule: Full-time.
Reports to: Store Manager / Owner.
About the role:
The UPS Store #5974 in Sheffield Village is hiring an Assistant Manager to help run the store day to day. You will be the second person in charge: serving customers at the counter, supporting the team, and keeping the store running smoothly when the manager is not in. This is a hands-on retail role — you will work the counter alongside the team, not just supervise from the back.
What you will do:
- Help customers with shipping, packing, returns, printing, copying, faxing, and mailbox services.
- Pack items safely, prepare shipping labels, and check packages in and out correctly.
- Take payments, run the register and point-of-sale system, and handle cash and card sales accurately.
- Open and close the store, including cash counts and end-of-day closing steps.
- Answer customer questions in person and by phone, and resolve problems calmly.
- Support, train, and guide part-time team members during your shift.
- Help with staff scheduling and cover shifts when someone calls off.
- Keep the store clean, organized, and stocked with boxes, packing supplies, and office products.
- Track supplies and let the manager know when stock is running low.
- Follow store procedures for drop-off packages, freight, and notary and print jobs if assigned.
What we are looking for:
- Retail, customer service, or shipping / print experience preferred.
- Friendly, patient, and clear with customers, even when the store is busy.
- Reliable and punctual — able to open or close the store as scheduled.
- Comfortable leading a small team and setting a good example on shift.
- Basic computer skills and confidence learning the point-of-sale system.
- Careful with cash, payments, and customer packages and information.
- Able to lift and move packages and boxes as part of daily work.
- Available for some Saturdays and Sundays — store hours are Mon-Fri 8:30am-7pm, Sat 9am-3pm, Sun 10am-3pm.
