Assistant Manager
Company Overview
We are a values-driven ice cream shop committed to creating a welcoming environment for both our guests and our team. Our focus is simple: serve great ice cream, treat people with respect, and make every visit a bright spot in someone’s day.
We believe in growing leaders from within, investing in training, and building a culture you can genuinely be proud to be part of.
The Opportunity
As an Assistant Manager, you will play a key role in running the shop day to day, leading a team of scoopers and shift leads, and making sure every guest leaves happier than when they arrived. This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll be on the floor, coaching, problem-solving, and setting the tone for the team.
If you’re ready to level up from crew or shift lead into real leadership responsibilities, this role gives you a clear path toward becoming a Shop Manager, with paid leadership training and plenty of chances to grow.
What You'll Do
- Lead, coach, and support scoopers and shift leads so every shift runs smoothly and guests have a great experience.
- Own key daily operations such as cash handling, inventory checks, scheduling support, and opening/closing the shop.
- Set and model high standards for guest service, and train team members to deliver friendly, consistent, efficient service.
- Help your team learn and grow by giving feedback, celebrating wins, and building a positive, accountable culture.
- Support community events, promotions, and shop goals that strengthen our brand and bring guests back.
What Success Looks Like
- Within your first few months, you are confidently running shifts, handling openings/closings, and keeping operations smooth without constant oversight.
- Your team looks to you for guidance, and you regularly coach scoopers and shift leads to improve service, speed, and teamwork.
- Guest feedback is consistently positive, with fewer service issues and quick, professional resolution when problems arise.
- The Shop Manager can step away knowing you will maintain standards, support the team, and help the shop hit its daily and weekly goals.
What We're Looking For
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience, ideally in food service or retail.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills, especially in busy or high-energy environments.
- Reliability, a positive attitude, and a strong sense of accountability to your team and guests.
- A genuine drive to grow, learn, and help others develop their skills and confidence.
Compensation and Benefits
- $20–$24 per hour (including tips).
- Free ice cream, flexible schedules, and paid leadership training.
- Real growth path with Assistant Manager as a step toward Shop Manager.
