    SummaryThe Assistant Librarian - Adult, under the general supervision of the Adult Services Supervisor, ensures the library is a welcoming and safe environment that supports and represents all community members. This role is responsible for all aspects of library service with duties including circulation, patron assistance, programming, and public relations.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Prepares and presents programs for adultsCollaborates with Outreach team to present programs and events for all ages both in-library and in the communityAssists with daily Adult Services Division operationsProvides library outreach at community eventsAssists with the daily operations of assigned areaProvides exceptional service without exceptionWorks collaboratively on programming and strategic initiativesProvides reference and readers advisory guidance through reference interviews and literature searchesMaintains an awareness of literature services, reference sources, professional trends, methods, and ethics.     Minimum Qualifications

    High school diploma or equivalentTwo (2) years of experience in public library

    Preferred Qualifications

    Experience in library programmingExperience working with adultsFamiliarity with Polaris, Library IQ, Beanstack, and/or VOMOBilingual in English & Spanish
