Rowan College at Burlington County is seeking a full-time Assistant Lead Engineer. Responsible for the efficient and effective operation of the college's mechanical systems, including operation of two central cooling and heating plants; hot and chilled water distribution systems; campus-wide building automation systems; Individual building HVAC systems, and miscellaneous chilling and heating equipment. Supports the Lead Stationary Engineer(Chief Engineer).\n \nThis is a Support Staff Union position as stated in the Support Staff collective bargaining agreement, Grade Level G.\n \nSpecific Duties and Responsibilities\n\n Under the direction of the Engineering Foreman, supervise the activities of stationary engineers and HVAC technicians in the maintenance and operation of heating, air conditioning, ventilation, and related equipment across two campuses.\n Assists in training and the development of Engineering Staff. \n Explains and enforces GMP's, Safety, and Environmental regulations.\n Coordinates staff schedules. \n Ensures both regulatory and absentee coverage with a minimum of overtime. \n Operates and maintains Building Automation Systems, including programming to achieve balance of comfort and energy conservation. \n Develop strategies to meet energy conservation goals. Systems include Fire, HVAC, and Intrusion.\n Schedule and supervise statutory service and inspections.\n Develop and implement maintenance schedules for all mechanical equipment. \n Strong working knowledge of the college's CMMS system. \n Creates schedules and verifies proper completion of Preventive Maintenance and daily work order tasks.\n Perform Stationary Engineer duties as needed.\n Troubleshoot operating problems with all mechanical equipment at both campuses and equipment local to each building.\n Perform condition assessments for the development of major repair and replacement budgets and to support the master planning effort of the college. \n Furnish input to the capital budget process.\n Supervise water treatment program to close and open systems to prolong equipment life, assure reliable operation and prevent growth of undesirable organisms.\n Participates in the development of departmental procedures.\n Participates in the design process with engineers and architects for new construction and renovation.\n Performs other duties as required.\n \nOVERALL PURPOSE AND RESPONSIBILITY:\n \nThe primary and most important overall responsibility of all employees is to provide service in a pleasant, helpful, and effective manner to our students and other members of the College community. \n\n Education/Certificate/Licenses\n \nHigh school diploma or equivalent. Trade school certification and/or apprentice experience are preferred.
