About the Role:The Mad Apple Burger & Billiard Co. in Appleton, WI is looking for a passionate and driven Assistant Kitchen Manager to help lead our back-of-house operations. Responsibilities:- Assist the Kitchen Manager in overseeing daily back-of-house operations and food production
- Supervise, train, and motivate kitchen staff to maintain high performance standards
- Ensure food quality, consistency, and presentation meet company standards on every plate
- Monitor food inventory, assist with ordering, and minimize waste to control food costs
- Enforce food safety, sanitation, and health code compliance at all times
- Assist in scheduling kitchen staff and managing labor to meet business needs
- Step in as acting Kitchen Manager during absences and high-volume service periods
Requirements:- 2+ years of kitchen or culinary experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and ServSafe certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Experience in a high-volume, fast-paced restaurant or bar-and-grill environment preferred
- Ability to lead a team with a positive, hands-on management style
- Solid understanding of food cost, inventory management, and kitchen operations
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Strong communication and organizational skills
