    ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY

    Schedule/Hours: Tuesday-Saturday, 4PM-Midnight

    This position is responsible for:

    The Assistant Housing Manager helps keep the Inclement Weather Shelter running smoothly, safely, and with care for every guest. This hands-on role supports the Housing Manager with daily shelter operations, including guest intake, shift coverage, recordkeeping, food service, and safety checks. The Assistant Housing Manager also helps guide Lead Housing Monitors and Housing Monitors, ensures program guidelines are followed, and helps maintain a clean, welcoming space where guests are treated with respect.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Essential functions

    • Supervises the Lead Housing Monitors and Housing Monitors.
    • Completes required paperwork representing guest intake for the day; inputs data into the computer to maintain computer records.
    • Monitors the activities of the Inclement Weather Shelter guests ensuring safety and compliance with program guidelines.
    • Delivers trauma-informed, client-centered service, using de-escalation methods and motivational interviewing techniques to ensure the emotional and physical safety of clients and staff.

    WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR IN YOU

    • High school diploma or G.E.D. AND
    • Two years' experience performing security or social service work preferred, OR
    • Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
