ASSISTANT COACH/SPONSOR

Purpose Statement

The job of Assistant Coach/Sponsor was established for the purpose/s of designing and implementing program activities in accordance with applicable rules and regulations related to the activity; providing supervision of student athletes during all aspects of their participation in program; using sound instructional techniques in overseeing program; serving as a positive role model to student athletes to the community, and to various organizations. Individuals in this job classification are assigned to a position for a specific activity at the JV or freshman level.

Functions

  • Analyzes opposition's strategies for game/event prior to and/or during athletic events as appropriate for the purpose of assessing the opposition's strengths and weaknesses for developing game plan/approach.
  • Assesses student athletes for the purpose of providing feedback to students on their individual performance and/or determining team placement.
  • Attends a variety of meetings, workshops, conferences, etc. for the purpose of receiving and conveying information related to their role.
  • Develops components of game strategies/plans as requested by Head Coach for the purpose of preparing the team and individual student athletes for the competition.
  • Evaluates facility and playing field for potential hazards, inadequate equipment, etc. for the purpose of implementing modifications or recommendations that would reduce the risk of injury.
  • Instructs student athletes for the purpose of promoting individual growth in athletic skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
  • Maintains a variety of records (e.g. game/student athlete statistics, insurance, signed permission forms, emergency information, schedules, equipment inventories, etc.) for the purpose of complying with district, athletic conference, and state requirements.
  • Monitors student athletes' academic eligibility for the purpose of both complying with AIA requirements as well as providing appropriate intervention (e.g. counseling, tutoring, etc.) to students identified as needing assistance to maintain their athletic eligibility.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
  • Supervises student athletes during all areas of participation (e.g. competition, travel, meetings, practices, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring activities are conducted in an environment with minimal risk of injury to the participants.

Essential Functions

Assists with site snow removal for the purpose of ensuring access and safety.

Attends unit meetings, in-service training, workshops, etc. for the purpose of gathering information required to perform job functions.

Checks boilers for the purpose of ensuring they are working in a safe manner and performing correctly.

Cleans assigned facilities and/or grounds (e.g. classrooms, offices, gym, restrooms, multipurpose rooms, grounds, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining a sanitary, safe and attractive environment.

Delivers a variety of items (e.g. supplies, mail, packages, furniture, etc.) for the purpose of distributing materials to the appropriate parties within site.

Informs students and other site personnel for the purpose of providing information and direction regarding activities, safety issues and/or proper maintenance of facilities and equipment.

Monitors students and staff in and around work areas (e.g. halls, multipurpose rooms, lunch room, restrooms, grounds, etc.) for the purpose of preventing injuries and ensuring site safety.

Orders supplies and equipment for the purpose of maintaining inventory and ensuring availability of items as needed to maintain equipment and facilities.

Performs minor, job related, maintenance on custodial equipment, classroom furniture and fixtures (e.g. change vacuum cleaner belts, bags, repair desks and tables, door knobs, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring proper functioning and usability of items.

Performs summer maintenance (e.g. strip/wax floors, move furniture, painting, extracting carpets, etc.) for the purpose of completing and/or facilitating summer construction.

  • Monitors budget allocations, expenditures, fund balances, and related financial activities for the purpose of ensuring that all allocations are accurate, revenues are recorded, and expenses are within budget limits.
  • Collaborates with the high school principal/counselor to provide high school students with work/training opportunities in early childhood when possible.

Work Environment

Time is spent in the daycare facility divided between childcare, paper/regulatory work, and supervision of staff.

Experience

  • Must be able to pass a background check for both the District and Department of Family Services.
  • Must have or be able to obtain all CPR and First Aid certifications.
  • Must be a fully licensed daycare provider by the state of Wyoming.

SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER

Purpose Statement

The job of Special Education Teacher was established for the purpose/s of providing support to the instructional process by serving as a teacher with specific responsibility for developing special education students' success in academics, interpersonal skills and activities of daily living; supervising students within the classroom and other assigned areas; developing lesson plans and delivering individual student instruction within established curriculum guidelines; collaborating with other teachers, other professional staff, and administrators in addressing instructional and/or classroom issues; and responding to a wide range of inquiries from students' parents or guardians regarding instructional program and student progress.

This job reports to Special Services Director.

Essential Functions

  • Adapts classroom work for the purpose of providing students with instructional materials that address individualized learning plans within established lesson plans.
  • Advises parents and/or legal guardians of student progress for the purpose of communicating expectations; student's achievements; developing methods for improvement and/or reinforcing classroom goals in the home environment.
  • Assesses student progress towards objectives, expectations, and/or goals (e.g. behavioral, motor development and communication skills, academic needs, vocational abilities, etc.) for the purpose of providing feedback to students, parents and administration.
  • Collaborates with instructional staff, other school personnel, parents and a variety of community resources for the purpose of improving the overall quality of student outcomes and achieving established classroom objectives in support of the school improvement plan.
  • Conducts IEP meetings for the purpose of conveying and sharing information about the student with parents, guardians and teachers..
  • Counsels students for the purpose of improving performance, health status, problem solving techniques and a variety of personal issues.
  • Develops IEPs for the purpose of ensuring students receive the proper services and instructions according to their disabilities.
  • Directs aides, volunteers, etc. for the purpose of providing an effective classroom program and addressing the needs of individual students.
  • Educates staff about students with disabilities for the purpose of ensuring the staff is aware of the disability and the proper instruction and care is given to the student.
