Assistant Golf Coach - High School
Position Summary
The Assistant Golf Coach supports the Head Golf Coach in developing and managing the high school golf program. The Assistant Coach helps provide instruction, training, supervision, and motivation to student-athletes while promoting teamwork, sportsmanship, and athlete safety.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Coach with planning and conducting practices, matches, tournaments, and team activities.
- Provide instruction on golf fundamentals, techniques, rules, etiquette, and course management.
- Supervise and support student-athletes during practices, matches, tournaments, and team activities.
- Assist with preparing student-athletes for competition and developing individual skills.
- Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, discipline, academic responsibility, and positive team culture.
- Monitor student-athlete safety and ensure compliance with applicable athletic policies and procedures.
- Assist with equipment, uniforms, transportation, tournament preparation, and other program needs.
- Maintain positive and professional communication with student-athletes, parents/guardians, coaches, and school staff.
- Follow all district, school, athletic department, and NMAA policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Golf Coach or Athletic Director.
Qualifications
- Previous golf, coaching, or competitive golf experience preferred.
- Knowledge of golf fundamentals, rules, and etiquette preferred.
- Ability to work effectively with high school students.
- Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Must be dependable and available for practices, matches, tournaments, and other scheduled activities, including evenings and weekends.
- Must be able to successfully pass a background check.
