Assistant General Manager (Opening Team)

RTB3 Hospitality is seeking an Assistant General Manager to help launch Roots Chicken Shak in Grand Prairie, Texas and grow with us from day one. This is not a clock-in, clock-out management role.

Roots Chicken Shak is an award-winning, purpose-driven fast casual concept founded by James Beard Award Finalist Chef Tiffany Derry, known for its signature duck-fat fried chicken and commitment to community impact.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Shift Leadership

• Manage day-to-day restaurant operations, including opening and closing procedures
  
• Ensure smooth communication between FOH and BOH throughout every shift
  
• Step into any team member role as needed to keep operations running smoothly
  
• Assist with cash management, banking procedures, and POS accuracy
  
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and operational standards on every shift
  

Guest Experience

• Ensure every guest interaction meets the Roots Chicken Shak standard great food, great service, great impact
  
• Build relationships with guests and create an environment they want to return to
  
• Handle guest concerns professionally, confidently, and with genuine care
  

Team Leadership

• Supervise, coach, and develop team members to uphold brand and RTB3 standards
  
• Lead hiring, onboarding, and training of new team members
  
• Coach and motivate staff during service not just before the shift
  
• Protect and reinforce RTB3 and Roots Chicken Shak culture every day
  

Financial & Operational Support

• Assist with labor scheduling and shift management
  
• Monitor inventory levels, place orders, and manage stock rotation
  
• Help drive sales through hospitality, upselling, and service quality
  
• Maintain awareness of labor costs and operational performance
  

Food Safety & Compliance

• Ensure strict compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health standards
  
• Hold the team to those standards consistently not just when it's convenient

What We're Looking For

• 2+ years of restaurant supervisory experience
  
• Proven ability to lead a team under pressure
  
• Holds or is willing to obtain ServSafe certification prior to opening
