    Assistant General Manager

    Southern Hops Brewing in Florence, South Carolina, is seeking an experienced Assistant General Manager (AGM) to help lead our restaurant and taproom.

    The AGM develops the team, maintains high operating standards, controls costs, drives sales, and helps deliver excellent food, craft beer, and hospitality.

    Key Responsibilities

    · Lead daily operations and uphold Southern Hops’ service, quality, culture, and performance standards.

    · Follow company policies and procedures and represent Southern Hops professionally.

    · Report to owners Jimmy Deaton and Christian Gibson and Operations Director Jolie Deaton.

    · Recruit, train, schedule, coach, and hold employees accountable.

    · Manage front-of-house purchasing, cash controls, checklists, reservations, and Toast POS.

    · Monitor food and beverage quality, presentation, safety, and sanitation.

    · Support the team during busy shifts and resolve guest or workplace concerns professionally.

    · Partner with front- and back-of-house leaders to keep operations efficient and coordinated.

    · Manage social media content, promotions, and customer engagement.

    · Assist with private-party and special-event planning and execution.

    · Maintain required ServSafe certification and work 40–45 hours per week, with additional hours as needed.

    Qualifications and Skills

    ·        2+ years of restaurant, brewery, hospitality, or retail management experience preferred.

    ·        Strong leadership, communication, customer-service, and conflict-resolution skills.

    ·        Knowledge of scheduling, inventory, purchasing, cash handling, cost control, and POS systems; Toast experience preferred.

    ·        Experience with social media and private-event coordination.

    ·        Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and responsible alcohol service; ServSafe certification required as applicable.

    ·        Available evenings, weekends, holidays, and 40–45 hours per week.

    ·        High school diploma or equivalent required; hospitality or business coursework is a plus.
