POSITION PURPOSEThe Assistant General Manager (AGM) position creates legendary experiences for guestsand team members through the management of Shift Managers (primary job code),Servers, Bartenders, Service Assistants and assumes full responsibility for the sports barin the General Manager’s (GM) absence. The AGM is directly accountable for all guestrelated metrics for Servers/Bartenders and focuses on overall improvement of guestengagement tactics.RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manages the operation of the sports bar, conducting effective Zone Managementthroughout each shift
  • Provides support to team members and managers and adds energy to each area ofthe sports bar
  • Interviews, hires, onboards, trains, develops and retains team members, with specificresponsibility for Shift Managers, Servers, Service Assistants and Bartenders
  • Diligently follows and enforces food and general safety requirements and modelsbehavior that protects them and others
  • Mentors, coaches and counsels team member and Shift Manager behaviors.Disciplines and terminates team members as needed
  • Interacts with guests in the dining room and the bar, makes personal connections andseeks specific feedback about their experience
  • Responsible for ensuring the completion of responsible alcohol service (RAS) trainingand that all RAS standards are properly executed every shift
  • Manages service execution (guest service, safety and efficiency) as well as the overallServer, Service Assistant, Bartender and Shift Manager labor performance:o Bar Cost of Sales and varianceso Oversees effective and efficient scheduling of labor for Servers, Service Assistants,Bartenders and Shift Managerso Responsible for Overall Satisfaction (OSAT) and other guest feedback metricsrelated to FOH service
  • Directly responsible for adherence, execution and coaching of the current servicemodel
  • Supports the management of Cost of Sales (COS), Comps Voids and Discounts (CVDs)and labor related costs for FOH
  • Ensures the execution of training programs and ensures compliance for direct reports on all training and certification requirements
  • Handles team members’ complaints or concerns by actively listening, involving thenecessary individuals, investigating and resolving where appropriate
  • Ensures compliance with all local, state and federal laws
  • Responsible for loyalty program execution and results
  • Assists the GM in overseeing overall sports bar performance and sales buildinginitiatives
  • Responsible for all activation rollouts and introductions of new products, tools andservices
  • Creates and executes strategic plans for overall guest service based off feedbackreports
  • Supports GM with Certified Trainer selections in area of responsibility and trainingprogram execution
  • Conducts pre and post shift meetings
  • Completes all manager tools on time and with integrity
  • Manages the balance of labor hours and service efficiency during their shift to meetlabor guidelines without sacrificing guest service
  • Conducts scheduled performance appraisals for direct reports
  • Stays current on all federal, state, local and company required training andcertifications, such as responsible alcohol service and food safety
  • Other duties as assignedKNOWLEDGE/SKILLS
  • General knowledge of labor laws, health codes, safe food handling and sanitation,responsible alcohol service, safety and security systems and procedures and computeroperations
  • Strong people management and communication and interpersonal skills
  • Superior guest service and hospitality skills
  • Skill in time management and organization with attention to detail
  • Self-motivated and a passion for teaching others
  • Ability to read and comprehend written materials and perform basic to intermediatemathematical computations
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of pace and intensity for an extended period of time Requirements:
  • Education: High School or equivalent. Coursework in restaurant management preferred.
  • 4 plus years prior professional experience in restaurant management required, or equivalent BWW experience.
  • Must possess proper food handlers and alcohol dispensing certifications (if required by law).
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Periodic travel to management meetings an annual convention and training as needed.
  • Knowledge of labor laws, health codes, safe food handling and sanitation, responsible alcohol service, safety and security systems and procedures, computeroperations.
  • Good people management skills, communication, and listening skills. Must be flexible and adaptable to change.
  • Demonstrated time management and organizational skills.
  • Must be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and have a passion for teaching others.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
The physical demands for this position require the individual to sit, stand, bend, lift up to 50 pounds, and move intermittently during working hours.
