Job Summary
The Assistant General Counsel - Marketing & Trading is a senior legal leader responsible for providing strategic legal guidance and support for the company's natural gas marketing, trading, and commercial operations. This role partners closely with commercial, trading, risk management, and executive teams to structure, negotiate, and execute complex transactions while managing legal and regulatory risk.
The position requires deep expertise in energy markets, commodity trading, and commercial contracting, with a strong understanding of upstream and midstream natural gas operations. The Assistant General Counsel plays a critical role in enabling commercial growth, ensuring compliance with evolving regulations, and protecting the company's interests across a broad range of domestic and international transactions.

Education
Minimum: Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
Minimum: Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction, with the ability to practice in the assigned geographic area (or eligibility for admission)
Experience
Minimum: 8 years of related legal experience with a significant focus on energy, natural gas marketing, trading, or midstream operations
Preferred: Prior experience in a law firm (corporate/M&A, capital markets, or securities practice) and/or in-house legal department
Preferred: Prior in-house experience within an energy company and demonstrated experience supporting trading desks, marketing organizations, and complex energy transactions
