Job Summary
Zippy Squirrels is a kids' sports and fitness club in Bellevue. We run science-backed classes for ages 3–12 that build speed, agility, coordination, strength and balance. You work alongside a Coach or Lead Coach, set up equipment, keep drills moving and get on the floor with the kids. While you do, you'll learn how to deliver instruction and manage a class, the two skills that move you up to Coach.
This role is a great fit for college students, recent graduates and teaching assistants. If you've worked with kids as a camp counselor, tutor, babysitter, TA or youth sports volunteer and you like to stay active, we want to hear from you. No fitness certification needed.
Responsibilities
1. In Class
- Set up equipment and handle transitions between drills, so the coach teaching can stay focused on the group.
- Get on the floor and do the movements with the kids. If the class is learning to army crawl, you're army crawling.
- Give extra guidance to children who need support or redirection.
- Encourage effort and celebrate the kid who finally gets it.
- Take over demonstrations once instruction has been delivered.
- Adjust for different ages, abilities and comfort levels.
2. Preparation & Teamwork
- Watch the weekly curriculum video before Monday. It's released Thursday.
- Work as a true team with the coach you're paired with.
- Share equipment setup and reset, in each drill zone.
3. Safety & Supervision
- Help keep the training space safe, including equipment, spacing and behavior.
- Make sure warm-ups, transitions and hydration breaks happen on time.
- Never leave children unattended.
- Follow safety protocols and document any incident the same day.
4. Families & Programs
- Greet families and help make the gym feel welcoming.
- Build good relationships with kids and parents.
- Help with school-break camps, birthday parties and special events.

- Current CPR/First Aid certification, submitted within 10 days of hire
- SafeSport certification within 60 days of hire (We provide this training)
