Position Summary

MHX is seeking a motivated, safety-focused Assistant Facility Manager to help lead day-to-day operations at our Fontana, California facility. This position is responsible for supporting the safe, timely, accurate, and reliable movement of customer products through the facility.

The Assistant Facility Manager serves as a key day-shift leader and works closely with the Facility Manager to ensure employees work safely, customer materials move efficiently, and daily operational requirements are completed accurately and on schedule.

This hands-on leader oversees receiving, inspection, staging, storage, inventory control, loading, and shipping activities. The Assistant Facility Manager also coordinates with fleet personnel to support the timely movement of inbound and outbound customer products.

The ideal candidate is an organized and dependable leader who can manage priorities on the warehouse floor, communicate effectively across teams, respond quickly to operational issues, and hold employees accountable for meeting MHX safety and performance standards.

Responsibilities

• Direct day-shift warehouse activities, including receiving, inspection, staging, storage, inventory control, loading, and shipping.
• Assign daily work and ensure employees are working on the appropriate processes at the right time.
• Coordinate warehouse activities with fleet personnel to support the timely movement of inbound and outbound products.
• Monitor workflow throughout the shift and adjust labor and priorities to meet customer and operational requirements.
• Enforce MHX safety policies, standard operating procedures, customer requirements, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
• Conduct and document daily safety tailgate meetings.
• Train and coach employees on safe work practices, material-handling equipment, facility systems, and product-movement procedures.
• Provide employees with timely performance feedback and assist with performance evaluations and corrective action when needed.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and investigate discrepancies, damage, and processing errors.
• Ensure incoming and outgoing materials are properly counted, inspected, documented, and handled with care.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse and yard operation.
• Ensure forklifts, cranes, material-handling equipment, and other facility equipment are inspected, safe, and properly maintained.
• Report and assist with the investigation of workplace accidents, injuries, property damage, and operational incidents.
• Communicate with customers, suppliers, employees, fleet personnel, and company leadership to maintain service and delivery standards.
• Support effective shift handoffs by clearly communicating outstanding work, equipment concerns, inventory issues, and customer priorities.
• Identify opportunities to improve safety, productivity, accuracy, capacity, and the customer experience.
• Assist with loading, unloading, material movement, and other warehouse work when operationally necessary.
• Perform other duties assigned by management based on the needs of the Fontana facility.
