    Description

It's a growing fast company, and its leader needs to spend more time doing what grows the business, selling and bringing in new members and partners.

This role exists to make that possible: you own the day-to-day operations across five chambers so leadership is freed up to sell. It's an ops-first seat by a wide margin, you build the systems, lead the team, and keep the organization running clean. But you also keep a line of sight on sales and the big picture: spotting opportunities to grow revenue and building the operational capacity to support them. Ops is the job; the commercial awareness is what makes you a partner rather than an administrator.

    What You'll Own

    • Day-to-day operations across the organization — the systems, standards, and people that keep five chambers running as one business — so leadership is freed to focus on sales and new business.
    • A commercial eye on the big picture: keep a line of sight on sales and revenue, surface new-revenue opportunities, and build the operational capacity to support them. (This role enables and scales revenue — it doesn't carry the sales quota.)
    • Cross-functional initiatives end to end — new chamber launches, sponsorship programs, community-giving campaigns — from strategy through results.
    • Continuous improvement in our proprietary, highly customizable CRM: you spot inefficiencies and ways to leverage tools, and an in-house team builds those changes into the system fast. (We also use platforms like Wix and Eventbrite in the stack.)
    • Team and vendor leadership — hiring, directing, and holding coordinators and partners to a standard.
    • Goal and performance tracking org-wide; you flag what's at risk before it becomes a fire.
    • Senior member, sponsor, and community-partner relationships as a trusted face of the Chamber.

    What You Bring

    • 5+ years in operations or general-management leadership in a fast-moving, growth-stage environment.
    • An ops-first mindset with real commercial awareness — you understand how operations drives revenue, even though you're not the one selling.
    • A record of building systems (and teams) that scale; you see inefficiencies and fix them for good.
    • Comfortable in a customizable CRM/tech environment — you think in systems and know what to ask an internal dev team to build.
    • Strong business judgment, discretion, and the ability to see the whole board.
    • Self-directed and highly effective working remotely.
    • Excellent communication and a genuine relationship-first instinct.

    Nice to Have

    • Chamber, association, agency, or founder-led growth-company leadership experience.
    • Exposure to sales/revenue operations or supporting a sales-driven leader.
    • Experience shaping requirements for a custom CRM or internal tools/dev team.
    • A local Southeast Michigan network.
