We are seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Engineer to join our team. This role involves performing basic engineering and drafting tasks on various projects, applying standard techniques, procedures, and criteria as part of broader assignments. The position offers opportunities for internal career growth and exposure to large projects within a welcoming yet focused work environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform specific assignments designed to develop engineering knowledge and skills.
• Apply standard practices and techniques on specific tasks with limited exercise of engineering judgment required on work details.
• Perform QA QC on assigned tasks, reviewing, checking, and correcting errors before submitting to a supervisor.
• Receive close supervision on new aspects of assignments, with techniques and procedures selected by the supervisor for non-routine work.
• Stay abreast of new developments and methods affecting assigned engineering tasks by attending training workshops to expand knowledge in all areas of engineering.
• Perform other related duties as deemed necessary.

Essential Skills

• Bachelor"s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited four-year college.
• Demonstrated competence in the understanding and application of mathematics and engineering principles and theory to projects.
• Competence in the operation of CADD, engineering, and office software.
• Basic knowledge in applying graphic standards, techniques, and principles to specific plans.
• Understanding of QA QC processes and their application to projects.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Preference for candidates who have completed the E.I.T. examination.
• Experience in civil engineering, design, land development, and grading.

Work Environment

The work environment is a welcoming but quiet office with a team size of 15-20. The dress code is business casual, and the standard work hours are from 8 AM to 5 PM. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Valencia, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $31.25 - $36.06/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
