Position Information
This is a full-time position assigned to the Election Division with Cobb County Elections and Registration. This position recruits poll workers and manager operational details related to the Election Day processes.
Essential Functions
Leads and coordinates daily work activities of assigned co-workers: confers with supervisor to obtain direction regarding work assignments and priorities; organizes tasks in order to complete assigned work; monitors status of work in progress and inspects completed work; confers with co-workers, assists with complex situations, and provides technical expertise; assists with training and instructing co-workers regarding operational procedures and proper use of equipment; assists with scheduling of staff and staff training; and provides input on disciplinary action and employee performance evaluations.
Completes data entry, filing, and other administrative tasks: creates and maintains spreadsheets; merges data into documents using templates; creates required forms and materials specific to each precinct.
Hires, trains and oversees the activities of polling place supervisors; participates in poll staffing projections for each election, identifies staffing deficiencies and resolves issues to comply with legal requirements. Prepares after-election evaluations for each precinct and works with area supervisors to resolve performance or training issues.
Hires, trains and supervises part time, seasonal, or temporary workers assists with staffing projections; coordinates and prioritizes daily work activities in assigned area; provides input on disciplinary action and employee performance evaluations.
Obtains knowledge of election laws and policies and maintains awareness of changes that may affect the elections process.
Assists with presentations and projects assigned by elections leadership team.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED; Supplemented by 2 or more years of customer service and supervisory or team lead experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in Georgia elections processing, knowledge of Georgia elections law, and Computer skills with MS Office suite.
Physical Abilities
Tasks require the ability to exert very moderate physical effort in light work, typically involving some combination of stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling, and which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of moderate weight (12-20 pounds).
Sensory Requirements
Some tasks require the ability to communicate orally.
Environmental Factors
Essential functions are regularly performed without exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
