Class Description
The Assistant Director provides leadership for student learning assistance programming and targeted interventions that promote student success. retention, and completion at CCBC. Reporting to the Director of Student Retention and Transition Services. the Assistant Director manages tutoring. supplemental
instruction, academic coaching, and related support services while supervising a professional staff team. This position collaborates with faculty and campus
partners to align services with student needs and advance institutional student success goals.
Minimum Requirements
Masters degree required. A minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in supporting student learning and success initiatives with the proven ability in program development, assessment, and continuous improvement and a strong understanding of best practices in student retention and learning in higher education, including a minimum of three (3) years of direct supervisory experience, required.
Compensation within the posted range is determined by a candidates education level and/or years of experience in the field. Generally, employees are hired in the lower third of the scale.
Class Specific Essential Duties
1.Oversee the planning and allocation of resources to effectively staff and accomplish the departments productivity goals, including planning and evaluating to improve the efficiency of processes and procedures to enhance speed, quality, efficiency, and output for all stakeholders, including students, faculty, alumni, and industry partners.
2.Collaborate with the director to develop new programs, initiatives, and strategies consistent with the Colleges mission.
3.Document all policies and procedures, assess data, and strengthen
operational practices to ensure business operations are meeting student needs.
4.Supervise, advise, and evaluate assigned staff, as required.
5.Prepare, analyze, and provide reports on miscellaneous subjects, as
requested.
6.Serve as liaison between college departments, vendors, government
agencies and/or other external organizations.
7.Serve on established departmental committees and/or ad hoc
committees, task forces or other bodies pertinent to student success.
8.Serve as Administrator on Duty responsibilities as needed.
9.Manage operating budget for assigned division or function, as required.
10.Flexibility to work some evening and weekend hours.

Tuition Assistance
Eligible full-time employees may qualify for waiver or reimbursement programs.
