Assistant Director Student Success Analytics and Engagement Technologies

The Assistant Director of Student Success Analytics and Engagement Technologies serves as a key leader in advancing Western Kentucky University''s student success, retention, and engagement initiatives through the effective implementation, utilization, and assessment of enterprise student success technologies, to ensure data-informed practices. Reporting to the Assistant Provost for Student Success and Online Learning, this position provides operational leadership, analytics support, and campus coordination for WKU''s academic advising, student development and engagement, and academic support and recovery platforms.

The Assistant Director works collaboratively across Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, Enrollment Management, Academic Advising, Career Development, and Academic Support and Retention Programs to promote adoption of student success technologies, build institutional capacity for data-informed decision-making, and ensure campus stakeholders effectively leverage analytics and engagement data to improve student outcomes.

This position combines expertise in analytics, project implementation, change management, training, and stakeholder engagement to maximize institutional return on investment in student success technologies and support WKU''s strategic priorities related to retention, persistence, student development, and post-graduation success.

Primary Responsibilities

• Support the effective utilization and continuous improvement of the Civitas Learning Student Impact Platform and Suitable by serving as the primary operational resource for campus users.
• Coordinate training, onboarding, and professional development opportunities for faculty, staff, advisors, and student success professionals to increase proficiency and adoption of student success technologies.
• Develop user guides, resource materials, and communication strategies that promote consistent and effective platform use across academic and student support units.
• Monitor platform utilization, identify opportunities to increase engagement and adoption, and recommend strategies to improve participation among campus stakeholders.
• Serve as a liaison between platform users and institutional leadership by gathering feedback, identifying challenges, and communicating enhancement opportunities.
• Collaborate with campus partners to integrate student success technologies into advising, retention, academic support, career development, and student engagement workflows.
• Analyze platform dashboards, reports, and engagement data to identify emerging trends, opportunities, and areas of concern affecting student success outcomes.
• Provide actionable insights and recommendations to the Assistant Provost for Student Success and Online Learning and campus stakeholders to support data-informed decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of technology-enabled interventions and student success initiatives through ongoing assessment and analysis.
• Support implementation of new platform features, enhancements, and institutional initiatives designed to improve student engagement, persistence, retention, and completion.
• Develop, maintain, and disseminate dashboards, reports, and visualizations that communicate student success, retention, persistence, engagement, and intervention outcomes to campus stakeholders.
• Coordinate analyses of key Civitas capabilities including Student Outcome Analytics, Predictive Factors of Course Success, Initiative Analysis, Course Insights, and Course Demand Analytics.
• Monitor student participation, engagement activity completion, and digital badge attainment within Suitable, and provide reports that inform institutional engagement and student development initiatives.
• In collaboration with the Assistant Provost for Student Success and Online Learning, facilitate campus adoption of student success technologies through stakeholder engagement, consultation, and change management strategies that support sustainable integration into institutional workflows.

Job Requirements:

• Master''s degree in Higher Education Administration, Educational Leadership, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Student Affairs, Business Analytics, or a related field.
• Four years of progressively responsible experience in student success, advising, assessment, analytics, institutional research, educational technology, or related fields.
• Experience utilizing data to inform decision-making and improve organizational outcomes.
• Experience developing reports, dashboards, or assessment tools.

Salary: $57,720
