Description

Under the supervision of the Director of Transfer and Online Admissions, using prospect management techniques, the Assistant Director of Transfer and Online Admissions is responsible for the recruitment, engagement, application management, and enrollment of on-ground and online transfer students in a specific recruitment territory. This includes managing prospective students expressing interest through Springfield College partnerships. The incumbent also coordinates and manages special projects as assigned by the Vice President for Enrollment Management and Marketing, Executive Director of Undergraduate Admissions, and Director of Transfer and Online Admissions.

Responsibilities

Establishes and maintains an informational, active communication system with transfer and online students in all stages of the admissions process.

  • Counsels students concerning admission, financial aid, housing options, and career planning
  • Conduct office-based contact by mail, email, text, and phone with students and parents
  • Uses prospect management techniques to conduct appropriate outreach to prospective students.

Identifies, recruits, and enrolls prospective students in a designated market

  • Manages a recruitment territory
  • Develops recruitment strategies
  • Plans and arranges all phases of regional and local travel

Reads, interprets, and evaluates students' academic credentials and makes admission/denial decisions

  • Assists with scholarship appropriation

Community Colleges and Professional Partnerships

  • Develop and maintain relationships with transfer coordinators and academic advisors at community colleges and organizational partnerships
  • Work closely and collaboratively with the partnership team at SC to fulfil the requirements of new and existing partnerships

Participates as an active member of the recruitment team

  • Assists with special programs and research projects
  • Participates in the development and implementation of enrollment strategies
  • Compiles data for reports
  • Maintains confidential files
  • Maintains calendar
  • Inputs/retrieves data with information system software

Manages special project assignments as assigned by the Vice President for Enrollment Management and Marketing, Executive Director for Undergraduate Admissions, and the Director of Transfer and Online Admissions

Qualifications

Bachelors Degree Required

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • The Assistant Director of Transfer and Online Admissions must display knowledge of the admissions process as well as excellent customer service, communication skills, and an understanding of prospect management.
  • The Assistant Director of Transfer and Online Admissions will work with students and families from many different backgrounds with varying needs throughout the admissions process. It is the responsibility of the assistant director to be able to make sure that these needs are met throughout the admissions process by connecting students with the appropriate offices and departments or providing them with the appropriate information.
  • Ability to attend three fall open house programs, one spring open house program, occasional weekend college fairs in the fall and spring, occasional night programs (college fairs) in the spring and fall.
  • Fall (September, October, November) and Spring (February, March, April) recruitment travel in a specific recruitment territory. Fall and Spring travel Monday through Friday.
