The Assistant Director of Student Activities for Greek Life and Operations has responsibility for advising Fraternity & Sorority Councils and chapter support while overseeing student organization operational systems, reservations, student staffing operations, and designated Student Life managed facilities. They are a member of the Student Life staff team under the direction of the Director of Student Activities and Greek Life.
Essential Job Functions:
Fraternity and Sorority Life Support
• Advise eleven inter/national chapters;
• Advise Order of Omega and Gamma Sigma Alpha honoraries;
• Advise the Panhellenic and Interfraternity Councils;
• Oversee Greek Recruitment and Greek Accreditation program for Chapter Recognition;
• Administer College policies, procedures, and guidelines that apply to campus organizations and event management;
• Support risk management, leadership development, Greek programs, and educational initiatives within the fraternity and sorority community.
Student Organization Operations
• Oversee student organization operational processes including event registration systems, reservation processes, and organizational compliance initiatives;
• Coordinate space reservations and operational support for designated Student Life managed spaces.
Roush Campus Center and Combs Warehouse Operations
• Oversee the management and daily operations of the Roush Campus Center, Combs Warehouse, outdoor student life venues, other areas of campus managed by the Student Activities and Greek Life Office including the event reservation system, room setup operations, and facility coordination;
• Train, supervise, and oversee student workers for the Roush Campus Center;
• Supervise operational support and facility readiness for Student Life managed spaces.
Other Student Life Duties
• Oversee shuttle program for student arrival and departure during campus breaks;
• Assist with student transition support initiatives;
• Participate in Student Life staff meetings, regular individual meetings with supervisors, and the annual Student Life staff retreat;
• Assist on special projects; participate as a team member in all aspects of Student Life;
• Demonstrate an appreciation for and sensitivity to an inclusive academic community, fostering a welcoming environment for students, faculty, and staff from all social, economic, cultural, ideological, racial, and ethnic backgrounds;
• Contribute to the overall success of the department by performing all other essential duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements:
Education
• Master’s Degree in Higher Education Administration, College Student Personnel, Counseling, or related field preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge and Skills
• Willing to work flexible schedule, which will include evening and weekend hours as required to meet with student organizations and to facilitate activities;
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, organization skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks;
• Knowledge of NIC and NPC structures and policies;
• Experience with event operations, reservations systems, student staffing, and facility management preferred.
Physical Requirements
Limited pushing, pulling, lifting. Lifting would not exceed 20 lbs. Mobility on campus necessary.
