Job Summary

This position is responsible for providing leadership and oversight to PATH Peer Support Initiatives including curriculum development and delivery, coaching and quality improvement efforts supporting peer services within the Illinois Medicaid provider community. Initiatives include Peer Support Work, Family Peer Support and Violence Prevention. This role provides direct supervision and leadership to the Peer Coordinator Team.

The Assistant Director collaborates with multiple stakeholders to design training curricula, establish skill competencies for peer support staff, build community partnerships and provide coaching and support of Medicaid enrolled providers across the state of Illinois.

The Assistant Director oversees training and effectiveness and leads evaluation/Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) efforts related to training, coaching, and data-to-practice activities on behalf of the Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services (HFS). The role promotes a collaborative, learner-centered, and community-focused approach across PATH initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities

Curriculum Development, Implementation and Oversight of Training/Coaching Efforts

Develop and coordinate clinical services training for Peer Support Training staff.

Collaborate with multiple stakeholders to design training curricula and identify/update skill competencies including external Subject Matter Experts (SME) on development of peer training and coaching for Peer Support Workers, Family Peer Supporters and Peers involved in Community Violence Intervention efforts.

Write program''s annual and long-range plans in conjunction with Associate Director of PATH.

Partner with Associate Director to ensure Medicaid enrolled providers have access to technical support and coaching

Assure appropriate integration of a multi-service, multi-disciplinary, culturally and trauma informed approach to training.

Coordinate training tools, including schedules, trainer identification, visual aids, and data analysis.

Provide technical support to implement new strategies, ensuring program model fidelity and use of evaluation feedback. Work in conjunction with PATH leadership and CQR team to integrate evaluation feedback into training and coaching initiatives.

Foster an environment of open communication and collaboration among training facilitators.

This position plays a crucial role in advancing the organization''s commitment to delivering high-quality, trauma-informed clinical services through effective training and program development.

Provide guidance and serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) to PATH leadership and supervisory support to Specialist team to ensure fidelity to training curriculum and delivery of training using proven training platform skills.

Trains and coaches' providers on Peer Support related initiatives and consults with system partners to ensure effective implementation of services

Provides training in order to model facilitation of content for new specialists as well as to introduce new training curriculum to providers.

Provides direct field support and coaching to providers as necessary to meet provider need and demand.

Work collaboratively with community agencies, organizations, and institutions including Healthcare and Family Services (HFS), Office of Medicaid Innovation, UIUC-School of Social Work and PATH leadership.

Establish and maintain contacts with community groups to address training needs.

Collaborate with stakeholders such as community-based organizations, violence intervention leaders, law enforcement, academics, and subject matter experts of peer support service implementation.

Actively participate in forums, meetings, and strategy sessions with statewide stakeholders.

Develop and lead Learning Collaborative efforts to aid in implementation of peer support service delivery as an extension of training efforts.

Monitors training and coaching delivery including providing feedback and with integration of data in conjunction with the Associate Director of PATH and respective Peer Coordinators

Other duties as assigned. Statewide travel.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor''s degree in a human services field. Minimum of three (3) years of Behavioral Health Services (Clinical) supervisory/management experience. Minimum of three (3) years of experience providing services and training directly related to peer support delivery or implementation.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in a human services field from an accredited college. Bilingual skills. Clinical licensure in Illinois, LPHA status pursuant to 89 ILAC 140.453. Certification as a Certified Peer Support Specialist or Certified Family Peer Partner in the State of Illinois.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, excellent communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and knowledge of community mental health services. Highly organized, ability to work independently.

Appointment Information

This is a 100% full-time Academic Professional position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after the search posting closes. The budgeted salary range for the position is $90,000- $100,000. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, while also considering internal equity. Sponsorship for work authorization is not available for this position. Hybrid and Remote work options may be available for this position with the ability to be on-site as needed per the University's Workplace Flexibility policy.
