Our client, a prominent academic medical center known for its commitment to excellence in healthcare and medical education, is hiring an Assistant Director of Operations within the Obstetrics & Gynecology department. This leadership position offers an opportunity to oversee operational performance across multiple OB/GYN practice sites, ensuring efficiency, quality, and patient-centered care. The role involves collaborating with clinical and administrative teams to standardize workflows, optimize patient access, and foster a high-performance culture within a dynamic, multi-site environment. The Assistant Director will play a pivotal role in strategic planning, staffing, performance management, and resource stewardship to advance the departments mission of providing exceptional obstetric and gynecologic care.
Responsibilities:
- Provide operational oversight across all OB/GYN practice sites, ensuring consistent policies, workflows, and service standards.
- Lead development and refinement of clinical and administrative workflows, conducting site visits and assessments to identify and address gaps.
- Establish and maintain a comprehensive department-wide operations playbook and SOPs.
- Oversee scheduling and registration processes to meet access and patient flow targets.
- Collaborate with HR to assess staffing needs, lead recruitment, onboarding, and performance management, and promote a culture of accountability and teamwork.
- Drive performance monitoring through KPIs and dashboards, leading root cause analyses and corrective actions.
- Partner with Quality & Patient Safety teams to ensure compliance with standards and regulations.
- Lead or participate in strategic initiatives, representing the department at institutional forums.
- Manage relationships with internal partners including Facilities, IT, and Compliance.
- Contribute to budget development, cost-saving initiatives, and resource utilization to ensure fiscal responsibility.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Public Health, or related field (required).
- Masters degree (MHA, MBA, MPH, or equivalent) preferred.
- 46 years of healthcare operations experience, including at least 3 years in a supervisory or leadership role (required).
- Experience in an academic medical center or large health system (preferred).
- Background or experience in OB/GYN, Womens Health, or related specialty (preferred).
- Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills are essential.
- Ability to work across complex organizational structures and foster teamwork.
