Our client, a leading healthcare provider dedicated to excellence in patient care and nursing leadership, is hiring a Assistant Director of Nursing Operations. This vital leadership role involves overseeing nursing services across multiple healthcare facilities, ensuring high-quality patient care, operational efficiency, and compliance with all regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in clinical nursing and administration, contributing to the growth, stability, and strategic development of nursing operations within a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operations of nursing services across assigned locations, including monitoring service quality metrics and ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate care delivery models, optimizing resource utilization and patient outcomes.
- Collaborate with senior leadership, medical staff, and administrative teams to establish objectives, policies, and standards that promote excellence in nursing practice.
- Lead staffing processes, including workforce planning, recruitment, and performance evaluations, fostering a leadership pipeline and succession planning.
- Oversee clinical and administrative documentation, ensuring accuracy and legal compliance.
- Participate in research projects and continuous quality improvement initiatives to identify and address practice variances.
- Support professional development and staff engagement initiatives to enhance retention and practice excellence.
- Serve as acting director during absences and perform additional duties related to nursing management and strategic planning.
Requirements
- Valid New York State license and current registration as a Registered Professional Nurse.
- Masters Degree in Nursing Administration or a related field; candidates with a Bachelors Degree and four or more years of clinical and supervisory nursing experience are also eligible.
- Minimum of three years in a responsible administrative or supervisory capacity managing nursing departments or units.
- Ambulatory care nursing leadership experience is preferred.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to analyze data, lead change, and foster professional development.
- Additional certifications, such as Ambulatory Care Nursing Certification (AMB-BC), are advantageous.
