    Description

    Purpose:

    To provide quality care for resident and their home, with care and compassion, following regulations set forth by federal, state and local standards.

    Reports to: Director of Nursing

    Qualifications:

    · Current SD nursing license

    · Attention to detail-must be able to multi-task, prioritize with a focus on attention to detail.

    · Must be passionate about growing and teaching others.

    · Self starter-must be able to work independently-is internally motivated.

    · Possess leadership abilities and willingness to cooperate with residents, staff, family and community members.

    · Must be of good moral character, have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm to be able to work closely with the residents and staff to provide a safe and productive environment.

    · Ability to read, write, follow written and oral orders.

    · Must possess good communication, team and people skills.

    · Must have an understanding of the aging process and be able to relate to work well with the elderly.

    · Sit, stand, bend, walk for 8-12 hours at a time

    Essential Job Functions:

    Must be internally motivated, be able to multi-task, and a positive teammate

    *Day to day nursing; follow up on orders, assess residents when needed, admit, discharges, assess prospective residents, work alongside and teach nursing staff

    · Work hours are generally Monday-Thursday/Friday

    · On call to answer nursing questions every other week and weekend.

    · On call every 5th weekend to cover staffing.

    · Read shift to shift reports to prepare for morning meeting.

    · Have, or be willing to get certified to teach medication aid classes. (RN only)

    · Teach medication aid classes monthly, or as needed. (RN only)

    · Mentor medications aids.

    · Ensure resident appointment packets are finalized.

    Assess possible new residents.

    · Admit new residents.

    · Perform monthly resident assessments.

    · Follow up/sign MD orders.

    · Case manage complex residents.

    · Maintain adequate records and confidentiality of resident and employee information.

    · Complete all documentation requirements per state and federal regulations in a prompt and timely manner. Keep records as required by regulations.

    · Promote a positive attitude within the facility at all times.

    · Answers phones in a cordial manner.

    · All other duties as assigned

    · Work in both buildings.

    · Tear down charts, and file upon resident discharge.

    $1,500 bonus after 6 months in good standing
