    Description

    Responsibilities/Duties:

    • Assists the DON in directing and overseeing daily nursing operations.
    • Provides leadership and support to nursing supervisors, licensed nurses, CNAs, and other nursing personnel.
    • Assists in developing and implementing nursing department goals and objectives.
    • Supports organizational mission, vision, and values.
    • Serves as a resource for nursing staff and assists with clinical decision-making.
    • Assumes responsibility for Nursing Services in the absence of the DON.
    • Participates in administrative meetings and leadership initiatives.
    • Monitors resident care delivery to ensure compliance with physician orders, care plans, and regulatory requirements.
    • Assists with assessment of residents and complex clinical situations.
    • Provides clinical guidance to nursing staff.
    • Assists with management of state survey processes and plans of correction.
    • Assists in developing corrective action plans.
    • Assists with staffing management and scheduling processes to ensure census and resident care needs are met.
    • Assists with wound management, falls reduction initiatives, infection prevention, and clinical programs as assigned.
    • Conducts audits and monitors compliance with nursing standards.
    • Reviews incidents, investigations, grievances, and resident concerns as assigned.
    • Assists with recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of nursing staff.
    • Supports leadership development among supervisors, charge nurses, CNA Leads, and mentors.
    • Assists with outbreak management and emergency preparedness.
    • Performs additional duties as assigned by the DON or Administrator.
    • Participates in admissions, transfers, discharges, and transition planning.
    • Investigates complaints and grievances.
    • Assists with competency validation and annual skills reviews.
    • Assists with performance management processes.
    • Participates in budgeting and resource management as assigned.
    • Conducts meetings and staff rounding.

    Education/Experience:

    Required

    • Current Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
    • Minimum three (3) years nursing experience.
    • Minimum one (1) year supervisory or leadership experience.
    • Knowledge of long-term care regulations and standards.
    • Strong organizational, clinical, and communication skills.
    • Ability to lead multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

    Preferred

    • Long-term care management experience.
    • Experience with survey management and regulatory compliance.
    • QAPI experience.
    • Infection Prevention training.
    • Wound Care Certification.
    • Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience.

    • Ability to perform duties in a healthcare environment.
