    Montello Care Center is looking for a full-time Assistant Director of Nursing for our location at 251 Forest Lane, Montello Wisconsin!
     
    JOB SUMMARY
    Under the direction of the Director of Nursing, the Assistant Director of Nursing is responsible for overall supervision and coordination of the clinical unit, growth of facility and community resources, provides comprehensive standards, practices and programs that meet the needs and best interests of the facility, staff and residents.

    QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
    • Licensure as a Registered Nurse/LPN in Wisconsin (which must be in good standing)
    • Excellent communication and organizational skills
    • Strong desire to work with the elderly
    • Must be able to read, write and communicate in English
    • Must have background and ability to fully carry out the requirements of the IP based on the needs of the resident population, such as interpreting clinical and laboratory data.
    QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED
    Previous experience in long term care
    Possess skills in leadership and communication
    American Red Cross certified

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB, DEPARTMENTAL EXPECTATIONS
    1. Supervisory: Manages training, development and performance of assigned staff to retain a motivated, professional workforce for Montello Care Center.
    2. Ability to develop and facilitate growth within the Nursing Department, relate professionally and positively to facility and departmental staff and to work cooperatively with others at all levels, and to include performance evaluations and discipline as necessary with the DON.
    3. Perform assessments, develop and implement appropriate plan of care based on assessment and diagnosis tailored to meet the individual needs with the interdisciplinary team. Evaluates the plan of care and makes necessary changes as needed. Monitors the care delivery of staff.
    4. Delegates and collaborates in providing resident care according to licensure and skill levels, follows up to ensure success.
    5. The infection preventionist (or designee) coordinates the development and monitoring of the infection prevention and control program, reports information related to compliance with the infection prevention and control program to the administrator and quality assurance and performance improvement committee, monitors changes in infection prevention and control guidelines and regulations to ensure that policies, practices and protocols remain current and aid in preventing and controlling the spread of infections, collects, analyzes and provides infection and antibiotic usage data and trends to nursing staff and health care practitioners, consults on infection risk assessment and prevention control strategies, and provides education and training on evidenced-based infection prevention and control practices
    6. Documents according to current standards and established policies.
    7. Ability to work independently with organizational skills, to prioritize tasks and to exercise judgment consistent with core values.
    8. Ability to model effective communications between resident, family, staff, and community.
    9. Must be able to identify potentially unsafe situations and to respond appropriately.
    10. Responsible to know, implement and assure compliance to State, Federal or County regulations and BHS policies and procedures.
    11. Other duties: Completes all other duties as assigned.
