Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) – Infection Control Nurse
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) and Infection Control Nurse
Lead and manage the facility’s Infection Prevention and Control Program
Supervise, mentor, and support Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) and Certified Medication Aides (CMAs)
Demonstrate strong leadership and teaching skills to educate staff on infection control, wound care, and regulatory compliance
Provide ongoing coaching, competency validation, and performance feedback to nursing staff
Oversee wound care management, documentation, and treatment compliance
Ensure adherence to CDC, CMS, and state regulations
Conduct audits, surveillance, and staff education related to infection prevention
Assist the DON with clinical oversight, survey readiness, and quality assurance initiatives
Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous learning
Qualifications
RN license in good standing required
Longterm care or skilled nursing leadership experience
Infection Control experience required
Wound Care Certification
Proven ability to lead, teach, and build confidence in nursing staff
