If you are compassionate about making a difference in the lives of elders, this is the opportunity for you.What will I do as the Assistant Director of Nursing?The ADON oversees the 120-bed nursing home and assists in the planning, direction, organization and evaluation of the nursing department operations. In addition, the Assistant Director of Nursing is responsible for Employee Health along with delivering education to staff at the assigned campuses to ensure that education modules are assigned in accordance with Federal and State Regulations.Oversee the clinical services in the nursing home to ensure that all federal, state and local standards, regulations and guidelines that govern the facility are adhered to.Monitors and oversees the care planning process by attending care conference meetings intermittently.Assist the Director of Nursing in developing, revising, implementing and overseeing policies and procedures for the nursing department.Assist in interviewing candidates for the nursing department.Assist in the completion of PRI assessments and submissions.Lead quality team as assigned and participates in meetings by preparing reports as indicated by QAPI program.Share the responsibility with Director of Nursing for on-call responsibility.Functions as Director of Nursing in absence.Develop, organize, implement, evaluate, coordinate, and direct the infection prevention and control program.Ensure that the facility is in compliance with current CDC, OSHA, and local regulations concerning infection control or universal precautions. Manage the facilities Infection Prevention and Control Committee.Develop, maintain, and periodically update infection prevention and control precautions and aseptic technique that successfully correct problem areas.Annually review infection control and prevention program and update policies and procedures as needed.Assist in evaluating and implementing recommendations from the QAPI Committee.Establish a routine, ongoing systematic collection, analysis, interpretation, and dissemination of surveillance data to identify infections, infection risks, and communicable disease outbreaks and maintain or improve resident health status.Monitor infection prevention and control practices and procedures to ensure that all personnel, volunteers, visitors, or other individuals providing services under a contractual arrangement are following UMH policy and procedure.Make rounds of the facility for the purpose of case findings, review of environmental sanitation procedures in all departments, and supervision of isolation precautions/practices.Review and analyze laboratory results related to infectious process and consult with the Nurse Management in developing the care plan for assuring that aseptic techniques are implemented.Develop and implement annual infection control in-service training programs.Participate in the annual or as needed facility assessment to determine necessary resources to care for the residents in day-to-day operations and emergencies.Deliver education to staff members both in a classroom and unit-based setting.What do I need for this role?Associates degree in Nursing from an accredited school.Must be a licensed RN in the state of New York.Certification to teach CNA and/or Certified Home Health Aide classes (preferred).2 years' experience in a long-term care or a continuing care situation.Benefits:Dental insuranceDisability insuranceFlexible spending accountHealth insuranceHealth savings accountLife insurancePaid time offRetirement planVision insuranceWhy Choose Eklego?As a professional, your skills are highly sought after, and you have many options.
