This role plays a critical leadership function in a high-acuity environment, ensuring clinical excellence, regulatory compliance, staffing effectiveness, and resident safety at all times.Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Leadership & OperationsAssist in the planning, organization, and oversight of nursing services and clinical programsSupport high-acuity care delivery, including post-acute, rehabilitative, and restorative nursing servicesMake daily rounds to monitor resident care, staff performance, and clinical outcomesServe as a clinical resource and leader for nursing staff across all shiftsRegulatory Compliance & Survey ReadinessEnsure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations governing skilled nursing facilitiesAssist with survey preparation, audits, and corrective action plansMaintain policies and procedures that align with regulatory standards and best practicesSupport infection prevention and control practices (IP certification required)Staffing & Workforce ManagementAssist with determining staffing needs and scheduling to support high-acuity censusRecommend appropriate staffing levels and skill mix by shiftSupervise, coach, and discipline nursing staff in a fair and consistent mannerEnsure nursing assistants meet training and certification requirementsCare Planning & Resident ServicesParticipate in resident admission assessments and care planningEnsure individualized care plans are developed, implemented, and updatedMonitor documentation for accuracy, timeliness, and regulatory complianceAddress resident, family, and staff concerns professionally and promptlyAdministrative & Collaborative DutiesAssist with preparation of departmental budgets and operational planningParticipate in nursing leadership meetings and interdisciplinary care conferencesComplete reports, audits, evaluations, and clinical documentation as requiredPerform additional duties as assigned in support of facility operationsSkills & KnowledgeStrong clinical judgment and leadership in a high-acuity SNF environmentKnowledge of nursing practices, infection control, and regulatory requirementsAbility to manage conflict, provide coaching, and lead under pressureProfessional demeanor with compassion, patience, and accountabilityEducation & LicensureGraduate of an approved Registered Nurse (RN) programCurrent, active, unencumbered RN license in the state of practiceBachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferredExperience RequirementsMinimum of 1 year supervisory nursing experience in a hospital, skilled nursing, or healthcare facilityAt least 6 months experience in rehabilitative or restorative nursing preferredInfection Prevention (IP) certification requiredHigh-acuity SNF experience strongly preferredWork Environment & Physical RequirementsFast-paced, high-acuity clinical setting with frequent interruptionsRegular interaction with residents, families, staff, physicians, and regulatory personnelMay require extended hours, weekends, on-call coverage, or emergency responseExposure to infectious diseases, hazardous materials, and clinical risksAbility to lift, push, pull, or move up to 25 pounds and assist with resident evacuation when necessaryIf you are a dedicated nursing leader seeking an ADON role where your clinical expertise and leadership truly matter, we encourage you to apply and join a team committed to excellence in skilled nursing care.
