Assistant Director of Maintenance

Description: Ensures that plant equipment is adjusted and properly maintained to provide a safe and efficient living area

1. Scope:
2. a) Follows preventative maintenance programs
3. b) Controls inventory
4. c) Orders and receives materials
5. d) Schedules maintenance employees
6. e) Performs routine repairs of building equipment
7. f) Performs routine repairs of buildings including, but not limited to, plumbing, electrical, and painting
8. g) Follows up on work performed in residents’ apartments
9. h) Follows safety regulations and practices
10. i) Performs snow removal, as needed
11. j) Maintains proper security of buildings
12. k) Subject to call at odd hours and/or weekends and holidays
13. l) Performs additional duties as assigned
14. m) May be exposed to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, and/or hazardous chemicals

Minimum Requirements:

1. a) Requires general knowledge of most trades
2. b) Comprehensive knowledge of physical plant equipment
3. c) High school education or equivalent
4. d) Experience in the field
5. e) Must have own maintenance hand tools
6. f) Must be able to lift 50 pounds
7. g) Must have general knowledge of computers
