Assistant Director of Finance

Salary: $90K-$100K

Key Responsibilities for the Assistant Director of Finance:

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including AP, AR, payroll, reconciliations, and cash management
• Prepare and analyze financial reports for leadership and external stakeholders
• Maintain and strengthen internal controls, compliance processes, and financial policies
• Support annual budgeting, year-end close, and external audit activities
• Manage endowment accounting, donor-restricted funds, and Yale-related financial transactions
• Evaluate and improve financial systems, workflows, and reporting processes

Qualifications for the Assistant Director of Finance:

• 7+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience in the nonprofit sector
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit accounting principles
• Master's degree in a relevant field or 5+ years of finance management experience
• Experience with cloud-based financial systems, preferably Sage Intacct, BILL, and Blackbaud
• Experience with endowment accounting and donor-restricted net assets
• CPA or CMA designation preferred
