    Position Summary

    The CYFCP Assistant Director of Evaluation provides leadership for evaluation and applied research activities across CYFCP programs. This role leads day-to-day evaluation operations for assigned initiatives, strengthens evaluation infrastructure and quality assurance processes, and provides evaluation consultation and technical assistance to program teams. The Assistant Director of Evaluation directly supervises evaluation personnel, including Research Assistants, Graduate Assistants, and other evaluation support roles as assigned, and ensures evaluation deliverables are completed with accuracy, consistency, and timeliness to meet CYFCP and funder expectations.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Relevant post-Baccalaureate degree required; for candidates demonstrating comparable independent research productivity, will accept a relevant undergraduate degree and 3 or more years of relevant experience in substitution.
    • May require terminal degree and licensure.

    Additional Required Certifications, Licensures, and Certificates Preferred Qualifications

    • Effective skills in time management, organization, and professional communication.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite tools and coordinating virtual meetings (e.g., via a platform like Zoom or Teams).
    • Experience working in a research- and/or evaluation-related capacity.

    Evaluation Team Operations and Supervision

    Essential Tasks

    • Oversee day-to-day evaluation staffing operations for assigned programs by coordinating coverage, distributing workload, and ensuring continuity across active projects.
    • Establish weekly priorities, assign tasks, and monitor progress across evaluation staff and trainees.
    • Ensure staff have clear expectations and access to the tools, templates, and guidance needed to complete work efficiently and with quality.
    • Maintain appropriate documentation of assignments and progress, and provide routine feedback to support performance, growth, and accountability.

    Evaluation Leadership and Technical Assistance

    Essential Tasks

    • Contribute in leading the implementation of evaluation activities across assigned CYFCP programs, including evaluation planning, refinement of measures, development or adaptation of instruments, and coordination of data collection and analysis timelines.
    • Provide evaluation consultation and technical assistance to program teams to strengthen outcomes monitoring and use of findings for program improvement.
    • Support alignment of evaluation activities with logic models, funder expectations, and CYFCP priorities, and identify evaluation risks early with proposed solutions.

    Data Management, Quality Assurance and Standarization

    Essential Tasks

    • Oversee program record-keeping systems and dataset management practices for assigned initiatives.
    • Establish and maintain standardized evaluation procedures, templates, file structures, and documentation practices to support consistency across programs.
    • Implement data quality assurance processes that promote accuracy, completeness, and reliable reporting, including validation checks, version control practices, and methods notes or decision logs that support replicable analysis.

    Reporting, Deliverables, and Dissemination Support

    Essential Tasks

    • Coordinate and contribute to evaluation reporting deliverables for grants, contracts, and internal stakeholders.
    • Draft, review, and finalize evaluation summaries, report sections, and data snapshots to meet funder and leadership expectations.
    • Translate results into clear, actionable recommendations for diverse audiences and support dissemination products such as briefs, slides, and one-pagers that communicate program impact. Present findings to appropriate audiences.
