Position Summary

Reporting to the Assistant Vice President (AVP) for Schools and Constituent Programs, the Assistant Director is primarily responsible for providing critical operational and fundraising support to the Arts and Sciences development team and other teams, as directed by the AVP.

This position requires some nights and weekend work hours for events.

Essential Functions

Partners with Development and University Relations' (DAUR's) analytics team to enhance and optimize Arts and Sciences (A&S) reporting, utilizing CRM systems and Excel to track fundraising metrics, generate ad hoc reports, and analyze donor trends for new engagement opportunities, using reflective discernment to translate data into strategic new engagement opportunities.

Collaborates with team fundraisers to manage prospect and donor data and to craft gift documentation, including maintaining prospects' contact information, call reports, and generating gift agreements.

Identifies and compiles insights for donor briefings to inform development team members, senior academic partners, and the Dean of Arts and Sciences, highlighting how donor passions align with the University's strategic plan and pursuit of excellence.

Manages full-cycle event logistics-including pre-, on-site, and post-event details-for Arts and Sciences cultivation activities, targeting major donors and Advisory Group members in partnership with the Dean's office, ensuring events foster an inclusive environment that expands the University's reach.

Leads the team's stewardship reporting, partnering with the fundraising team, DAUR's Donor Relations team, the Dean's Office, and senior academic partners to deliver timely, tailored updates to leadership and major donors that reflect a commitment to cura personalis by celebrating the donor's holistic relationship with the University.

Streamlines mass communications by executing complex, customized mail merges across multiple platforms to support targeted donor outreach.

Manages meeting logistics for the AVP and the team, coordinating with a range of internal and external constituencies.

Manages daily office operations for the Arts and Sciences team, including managing departmental budgets, tracking expenditures, and directing procurement logistics to ensure streamlined, efficient organizational workflows.

Bachelor's degree and a minimum of three years of development, project management, or administrative support experience.

Required Qualifications: Knowledge and Skills

Advanced proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word; and G Suite, including Gemini; demonstrated ability to leverage technological tools to elevate operational efficiency.

Expertise in executing complex mail merges using various tools (Gmail, Excel, etc.)

Must be able to work efficiently and effectively, at times under tight deadlines.

Solution-oriented approach with the ability to exercise independent judgment and initiative utilizing reflective discernment as appropriate.

Meticulous attention to detail and rigorous organizational skills, proactively and continuously identifying opportunities for operational improvements.

Able to communicate clearly and professionally, using excellent interpersonal and customer service skills to ensure all are treated with dignity and respect.

Ability to articulate Fordham's Jesuit identity to diverse stakeholders, demonstrating the capacity to connect administrative and operational work to the University's broader mission.

Highly professional and collaborative, with the ability to synthesize ideas and input from multiple team members and recommend cohesive next steps and suggested strategies.

Ability and willingness to learn new tools/applications.

Strong project management skills; ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects while working efficiently under tight timelines.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with SAP Concur, Zoom, Ellucian CRM Advance, and Blackbaud Fundraiser Performance Management (FPM).

Familiarity with development within higher education.
