About the Role

Lions Gate CCRC is seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Director of Culinary to help lead our culinary and dining operations in a senior living community. The ideal candidate is passionate about food, team leadership, and delivering high-quality dining experiences for our residents.

Working closely with the Director of Culinary, you will help oversee daily kitchen operations, support menu development, maintain food safety standards, and lead a team dedicated to providing excellent service and delicious meals.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Culinary with managing daily kitchen and dining operations.
• Supervise, train, and support culinary staff to maintain high standards of food quality and service.
• Assist with menu planning and preparation, ensuring meals are appealing, nutritious, and appropriate for senior living residents.
• Oversee food inventory, ordering, and supply management while helping control costs and minimize waste.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
• Monitor food preparation, presentation, and kitchen efficiency.
• Promote teamwork, accountability, and a positive work environment.
• Help ensure residents receive consistent, high-quality dining experiences that meet their needs and preferences.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a culinary leadership or kitchen management role.
• Senior living, healthcare, or long-term care dining experience strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of food preparation, menu planning, kitchen operations, and food safety.
• Proven ability to lead, train, and motivate a culinary team.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
• Culinary arts degree or professional certification preferred.
