Job Summary:
Reporting directly to the Director of Career Success, the Assistant Director is a senior leader of the Career Success Team who fulfills CSC''s mission to assist students and alumni in developing, evaluating, and effectively implementing their career plans. The Assistant Director operates with a high degree of autonomy, sets direction for department programs and data strategy, supervises staff and interns, and serves as the Director''s designee for daily operations in the Director''s absence.
As a member of the larger staff in Student Life, the Assistant Director collaborates and cooperates across divisions and departments to create a supportive University community which encourages student learning and development in the Jesuit Catholic tradition. The mission of Student Life is to fully support holistic student development within a social justice framework centered in preparing students to be caring, socially responsible citizens in our global and local community.

Qualifications
Master's degree required, preferably in Career Counseling, Counseling, or a related field. 3-5 years of related work experience required, preferably in career counseling, with demonstrated progression toward roles of increasing responsibility. Direct experience working with undergraduate and graduate students and alumni in a college or university setting required. Advanced knowledge of career and student development theory, career information, labor market information, and employment trends, with demonstrated ability to translate trends into program strategy. Demonstrated success advising and facilitating career development independently, including with complex or high-need cases. Proven experience selecting, implementing, and evaluating technology and digital tools for administrative and programmatic use, including emerging AI applications. Demonstrated ability to function in a leadership capacity, working with minimal supervision and a high degree of autonomy in establishing priorities, managing competing demands, and making independent decisions on behalf of the department, including in the Director's absence. Proven supervisory or team-lead experience, including hiring, training, and evaluating student or intern staff. Strong ability and commitment to fostering a collaborative team environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a polished, persuasive presentation style suited to senior stakeholders. High customer service values and an exceptional level of professionalism. Demonstrated marketing, budget-conscious event planning, and project management experience.
Evening and weekend hours and attendance at professional association events are
required.
