Job Description
Reporting to the Director of Engagement, the Assistant Director of Alumni Engagement plays a key role in advancing a cohesive, data-informed alumni engagement strategy for the Pamplin College of Business. This position is responsible for cultivating meaningful, lifelong relationships between alumni and the college by expanding opportunities for involvement, strengthening advisory boards, and building a robust alumni network aligned with university and college priorities.
The Assistant Director partners closely with University Advancement, Marketing and Communications, and academic units to ensure engagement strategies are coordinated, targeted, and effective. This role emphasizes strategic relationship development, data-driven decision-making, and volunteer leadership engagement.
This position is based on-site in Blacksburg, Virginia and does not include supervisory responsibilities. A successful Assistant Director thrives in the following areas:

Work Location & Flexibility:
This position will be based in Virginia Tech's Blacksburg Campus. To ensure comprehensive training and integration into our college culture, the position will be fully on-site for the first six months. After this period, the role may shift to a hybrid schedule with up to one day of telework per week, subject to departmental needs. Some travel may be required.
