Position Title Assistant Director of Admissions/Slate Communications Overview
St. John Fisher University is an independent, liberal arts institution that provides a transformative education to approximately 3,800 undergraduate, master's, and doctoral students each year. Across its five Schools, Fisher offers nearly 40 majors in the humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, business, education, and nursing; 11 pre-professional programs; and master's and doctoral programs in business, nursing, education, pharmacy, and public health. Job Responsibilities
The Assistant Director of Admissions/Slate Communications oversees strategic communications that strengthen engagement, support recruitment goals, and enhance the prospective student experience across all stages of the enrollment funnel. This position manages all Slate (CRM) based communications-including email, print, and SMS-targeting prospective, admitted, and deposited students, families, counselors, and community partners.
The Assistant Director of Admissions/Slate Communications organizes and maintains a comprehensive communication calendar designed to increase event attendance, encourage application submission and completion, and support yield and deposit conversion through timely, relevant, and audience‑specific messaging.
This role supports First‑Year, Transfer, and Graduate Admissions and is a critical contributor to the University's recruitment and enrollment strategy.
50% Strategic Enrollment Communications & Slate (CRM) Execution
Responsible for planning, developing, and executing strategic communication and recruitment outreach, in collaboration with Admissions Leadership and the Marketing and Communications Leadership, across electronic and print channels. Communications are expected to cultivate interest, support application completion, and strengthen enrollment yield (prospect‑to‑applicant and accepted‑to‑matriculated conversion).

The Assistant Director of Admissions/Slate Communications must demonstrate strong written communication and verbal communication skills, effective teamwork, and initiative in supporting recruitment goals. The role requires strategic use of the Slate (CRM) to engage prospective students and move them through the enrollment funnel.

Supervision of Employees
This position will oversee student workers within the Office of Admissions on various projects.
The Assistant Director of Admissions/Slate Communications will work closely with all members of the admissions team. The role will collaborate with Admissions Leadership, as well as the Chief Marketing and Communications Officer, to ensure coordination of our outreach to students for both First-Year Admissions and Transfer and Graduate Admissions.

Job Type Full-time Work Hours
This is an exempt, 35-hour per week, 12-month position. Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. are the core hours for this position.
Weekend and evening work may be occasionally required.
