Position: Assistant Director of Admissions and Student Finances
Department: Divinity School
Status: Full-Time
Position Summary:
The purpose of this position is to serve the Divinity School and the Admissions Office by exercising discretion and independent judgment in the areas of student application and financial aid processing for the Divinity School. Employment in this position is contingent upon meeting the goal of increasing enrollment to at least 126 students by FY 2031.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage financial aid for the Divinity School reporting to the Director of Admissions and the Divinity School Financial Aid Committee. Duties include the following:
Managing scholarship awards, direct aid, as well as Keesee and other grants distributed by the Divinity School.
Working directly with the University Financial Aid Office and Business Office to ensure effective implementation of financial aid procedures and accuracy of student account information.
Working with Divinity School Financial Aid Committee to ensure that fully endowed scholarships are awarded in a timely manner and in accordance with the preferences set forth by the scholarship donors.
Processing the acceptance forms for endowed scholarships and handling the scholarship thank you notes in compliance with University standards.
Notifying students of scholarship awards, answering questions regarding Divinity School issued financial aid, and working with students throughout their enrollment in Divinity School.
Developing a financial advisement process for Divinity School students to assist with efforts to reduce student debt.
Manage the application process. Duties include the following:
Communicating with applicants of application statuses.
Scheduling of admission interviews with applicants and Admissions Committee members.
Maintaining admissions records and reports.
Maintaining internal and University databases with records of applicants and current students.
Assist with recruiting initiatives including phone calls, prospective student follow-up, meeting with prospective students, attending recruiting events as needed, and participating in admissions events.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Excellent communication skills with an engaging demeanor.
Efficient and professional in communication with University personnel, prospective students, and other key contacts.
Able to build relationships with prospective students, applicants, and key constituents.
Effective in public speaking and presentation.
Capable of using communication systems to track applicants.
Excellent knowledge of computer software and ability to learn new programs.
Skilled in Microsoft Excel and other data systems.
Accurate and detail oriented with regards to the distribution and management of financial aid awards.
Outstanding organizational skills.
Willingness to travel occasionally.
Ability to work effectively as a member of the Admissions team.
Self-motivated.
Team player.
Able to handle and appropriately prioritize multiple tasks.
Efficient in daily office tasks.
