Introduction
Loudoun County is seeking an Assistant Director to oversee land acquisition functions for the Real Property Asset Management and Planning Office. The Office develops and implements plans for acquisition, disposition, leasing and management of real property assets that support the Countys Capital Improvement Program, future real property needs, office space requirements, and public-private partnership opportunities. Real property acquisition and disposition include properties and easements for both facilities and right-of-way projects. For right-of-way and other projects, the Office is responsible for compliance with federal, state and county laws, ordinances, regulations, and processes regarding the use of the County's eminent domain authority. This position also leads the Office's efforts around real estate market intelligence, negotiation, due diligence, and coordination with legal and financial teams, with respect to real property transactions and management for facilities, right-of-way, and easements and license agreements that align with County objectives, both short and long term.
Job Summary
Under the general direction of the Office Director, provide oversight for activities relating to land acquisition for Capital Improvement Plan projects, both transportation and capital facilities. This position will lead and supervise staff and serve as trusted advisor to the organization within assigned area(s) of responsibility, including land acquisition and disposal, issuing of easements and licenses, and leasing functions. This position may represent the Office and the Office Director in a variety of settings, including communication with elected officials and the development community. The successful candidate will communicate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to accomplish the mission and objectives of the Office.

Minimum Qualifications
Masters degree in Business, Public Administration, Real Estate Development, Engineering, Planning or other related field; Five (5) years of directly related, progressively responsible work experience including three (3) years in a supervisory or management role, preferably in a government setting; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Job Contingencies and Special Requirements
Successful candidates will undergo background checks as required. Valid drivers license and good driving record required (driving records may be reviewed annually for continued qualification); additional checks may be required depending on assigned department. Senior/management certification in area related to assigned department and active membership in job-related professional organizations preferred.
Attendance at evening meetings is expected.
