The National Football League is seeking a transactional attorney who will be responsible for supporting a broad range of media-related transactions and related advisory work. This is a rare opportunity to join a dynamic in-house legal team that supports the NFL's media business units and content licensing strategy. Strong candidates will possess an understanding of distribution and licensing models, especially in the context of digital media and emerging technology, and will have experience reviewing, structuring, and drafting content-related agreements.ResponsibilitiesStructure, draft and negotiate content licenses and distribution agreements with traditional and emerging platforms, with a meaningful focus on digital media – including social media platforms, video syndication partners, content platforms and device manufacturers and other digital outletsStructure, draft and negotiate agreements in connection with the production of short‑form content with digital partners and app distribution agreementsSupport the NFL's direct‑to‑consumer products and initiatives, including assisting with drafting promotional and co‑marketing agreements, reviewing creative materials, and regularly auditing relevant policies (e.g., terms and conditions, FAQs, “how to” tutorials)Deliver ongoing analysis and day‑to‑day legal advice in connection with a wide variety of media‑related agreements as well as strategic and operational issuesSupport senior attorneys and other executives in connection with contract negotiations and meetings with League partners and NFL internal stakeholdersProvide legal/business affairs support as needed for other NFL projects and initiativesRequired QualificationsBachelor's Degree from accredited 4‑year university/college and J.D. from accredited law school3+ years of experience in a transactional legal role at a top‑tier law firm or in‑house at a media/entertainment/technology companyStrong drafting experience in the media/content/technology spaceEstablished proficiency with complex agreements and familiarity with distribution, licensing and direct‑to‑consumer modelsValid membership in good standing in New York state barOther Key Attributes / CharacteristicsExceptional written and verbal communication skillsDemonstrated ability to manage diverse projects simultaneously with multiple stakeholdersHighly organized and efficient with strong attention to detailComfortable in a fast‑paced, high‑volume workplace environmentAbility to support multiple client groups concurrentlyProven success tackling new challenges and collaborating with othersWorking knowledge and meaningful interest in media trends and technologyPassion for the media industry and sports/entertainmentTerms / Expected Hours of WorkOccasional travel may be requiredEmployees are required to work a minimum of 40 hours per week in the officeThis role may require additional hours as needed (late nights, weekends)Salary / Pay RangeThis job posting contains a pay range, which represents the range of salaries or hourly rates that the NFL believes, in good faith, at the time of this posting that it might be willing to pay for the posted job in the location(s) specified.
