Assistant Cook

This position is located in Highland Park, NJ US 08904

Job Responsibilities:

• Assist with preparing and cooking food according to recipes and established standards
• Prepare ingredients by washing, cutting, chopping, and portioning food
• Assist with meal preparation and plating as needed
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area
• Follow proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures
• Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces
• Assist with receiving and properly storing food and kitchen supplies
• Monitor food supplies and notify the kitchen manager of items that need to be replenished
• Assist cooks and other kitchen staff with daily tasks as needed
• Deliver food to second location and serve meal
• Assist cleaning of lunchroom and general building

Qualifications:

• Previous kitchen or food service experience preferred
• Basic knowledge of food preparation and kitchen procedures
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Reliable and dependable with a strong work ethic
• Ability to work well as part of a team
• Valid drivers license
